PRESCRIBED BURNING

Wildfire staff come highly qualified and experienced in areas such as prescribed burn planning, prescribed burn implementation, ecological burning, slash reduction, and burn out operations.

NOTE: Prescribed Burn liability insurance will be covered by Wildfire and available upon request.

PRESCRIBED BURNING PLANNING

Wildfire has on staff qualified Fire Boss III’s for the writing and planning of prescribed burns as well as many years experience in pre-engineering for ecological and silvicultural burns.

BURNING IMPLEMENTATION

Wildfire has the capability of supplying personnel qualified to implement prescribed burns in the way of:

  • · Overhead Positions
  • · Ignition Crews
  • · Suppression Crews
  • · Service Aid

As well, Wildfire Specialists is able to supply a wide variety of equipment, such as:

  • · Ignition Equipment
  • · Camping Equipment

PRE-ENGINEERING

Our staff has experience in a broad range of prescribed burn pre-engineering tasks such as:

  • · Pre and post burn plots (fuel wood loading)

SLASH PILE BURNING

Wildfire has qualified Fire Boss II’s and trained staff for the implementation of slash pile burn operations as well as the capability of constructing such a plan. We supply all equipment required for such an operation. ie: suppression equipment, ignition equipment, and safety equipment.

RIGHT OF WAY BURNING

A prescribed burn plan is required for railway right of way burning if the area is over 2 ha in size, the burn lasts more than one day, or it poses a risk to adjacent values.

Wildfire has a number of certified and experienced Fire Boss II, and III's capable of preparing and writing Burn Plans to meet Ministry of Natural Resources requirements.

Each subdivision is to have it's own burn plan that outlines the priorities for burning, possible problem areas, and values associated with each subdivision.

A Qualified Fire Boss II will conduct on site inspections in the fall, prior to snow cover, to evaluate fuel types, conditions, topography, possible problem areas as well as priority areas for burning.

ECOLOGICAL BURNING

Wildfire Technicians and Fire Bosses have many years experience in a variety of Prescribe Burning Projects.

Objectives That Have Been Met:

  • · Eradication of insects and diseases
  • · Removal of unwanted species
  • · Reintroduction of native species
  • · Preparation of seed beds
  • · Natural regeneration
  • · Selective thinning

Wildfire is capable of:

  • · Preparing and writing pre and post burn plans
  • · Consulting agencies on priorities and solutions
  • · Pre-engineering of sites
  • · Ignition, monitoring and suppression

All or any one of these services can be provided.

Wildfire will supply all equipment required to conduct such operations.
